The Protecting Friend

The Governor, The Ruler. He is Al-Wali, The One who is the sole planner and governor of all things. He is fully supportive, helpful, and a master of all.

Name and Meaning

Al-Wali (الولي) translates to “The Protecting Friend”, “The Guardian”, or “The Patron.” This name signifies that Allah is the One who supports, protects, and guides His believing servants. He is close to them and manages their affairs with care and mercy.

Derived from the Arabic root waw lam ya (و ل ي), this root includes meanings such as:
