The Self-Existing One

The Self-Subsisting, The Self-Existing. He is Al-Qayyum, His essence/nature is to exist being utterly free from dependence on anything or anyone. He al-Qayyum is the one through whom all things arise.

Al-Qayyum (القيوم) translates to “The Self-Subsisting” or “The Sustainer of All.” This name signifies that Allah exists independently and sustains all of creation. He does not rely on anything, while everything relies completely upon Him.
