The Quran Says About Trust in Allah

“So do not weaken and call for peace while you have the upper hand. Allah is with you and He will never deprive you of the reward of your deeds.”

Quran | 47:35

This verse from Surah Muhammad is one of the most empowering messages in the Quran for every believer facing hardship or opposition. Allah commands the believers not to weaken or surrender when they are in a position of strength, and reassures them with a powerful promise: that He is with them and will never allow their efforts to go to waste. It is a verse that speaks directly to anyone who feels tired, discouraged, or tempted to give up, reminding them that Allah’s support is always present and that every good deed is fully preserved in His sight.

The strength of this verse lies in the combination of encouragement and assurance. Allah does not simply tell the believers to be strong; He gives them the reason why they should be. The phrase “Allah is with you” is one of the most comforting statements a believer can hold on to, because it means that no matter what challenges they face, they are never truly alone. And the promise that He will never deprive them of the reward of their deeds removes any fear that their struggles, sacrifices, and efforts might be forgotten. This is especially meaningful during moments of doubt, when a person may wonder whether their hard work and patience are making any difference. Allah makes it clear that nothing is lost with Him, and that steadfastness in the face of difficulty is one of the most honourable qualities a believer can possess.

Allah says in Surah Al-Anfaal of the Quran, “And be patient, for indeed Allah is with the patient” (Quran 8:46), reinforcing that divine support is always with those who remain steadfast. As Al-Wakil, Allah is the ultimate Guardian and Trustee, and whoever places their trust in Him will never be let down. When a believer internalises this verse, they find the courage to keep going, knowing that Allah sees every effort and that His reward is never diminished.
