    Surah An-Naazi'aat
    Those who drag forth
    سُورَةُ النَّازِعَاتِ
    بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
    وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِ غَرْقًۭا

    By the [angels] who tear out [the souls of the wicked] with violence;

    G
    وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ نَشْطًۭا

    By those who gently draw out [the souls of the blessed];

    D
    وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ سَبْحًۭا

And by those who glide along [on errands of mercy],

    A

Then press forward as in a race,

    C

Then arrange to do [the Commands of their Lord],

    W

One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion,

    Z
    تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ

    Followed by oft-repeated [commotions]:

    L
    قُلُوبٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَاجِفَةٌ

    Hearts that Day will be in agitation;

    I
    أَبْصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٌۭ

Cast down will be (their owners') eyes.

    I

They say [now]: "What! shall we indeed be returned to [our] former state?

    V

"What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?"

    H

They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!"

    Z

But indeed, it will be but a single [Compelling] Cry,

    E

When, behold, they will be in the [full] awakening [to Judgement].

    C

Has the story of Moses reached you?

    Q

And [mention], your Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:-

    M

"Go you to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds:

    V

"And say to him, 'Wouldst you that you should be purified [from sin]?-

    C

"'And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him?'"

    S

Then did [Moses] show him the Great Sign.

    V
    فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ

    But [Pharaoh] rejected it and disobeyed [guidance];

    X
    ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ

Further, he turned his back, striving hard [against Allah].

    U

Then he collected [his men] and made a proclamation,

    I

Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High".

    R

But Allah did punish him, [and made an] example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life.

    C

Indeed in this is an instructive warning for whosoever fears [Allah].

    J

What! Are you the more difficult to create or the heaven [above]? [Allah] has constructed it:

    I

On high has He raised its canopy, and He has given it order and perfection.

    J

Its night does He endow with darkness, and its splendour does He bring out [with light].

    O
    وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ

    And the earth, moreover, has He extended [to a wide expanse];

    L
    أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا

    He draws out therefrom its moisture and its pasture;

    P
    وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا

And the mountains has He firmly fixed;-

    S

For use and convenience to you and your cattle.

    L

Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming [Event],

    D

The Day when man shall remember [all] that he strove for,

    T

And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for [all] to see,

    O

Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds,

    Z

And had preferred the life of this world,

    Q
    فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ

    The Abode will be Hell-Fire;

    B
    وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ

And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's [tribunal] and had restrained [their] soul from lower desires,

    S

    Their abode will be Paradise.

    A

They ask you about the Hour,'When will be its appointed time?

    D

Wherein art you [concerned] with the declaration thereof?

    J

With your Lord in the Limit fixed therefor.

    E

You are but a Warner for such as fear it.

    T

The Day they see it, [It will be] as if they had tarried but a single evening, or [at most till] the following morn!
