Sourate Ad-Duha

The Morning Hours

سُورَةُ الضُّحَىٰ

Au nom de Dieu, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux

وَٱلضُّحَىٰ

By the Glorious Morning Light,

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ

And by the Night when it is still,

مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ

Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased.

وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ

And indeed the Hereafter will be better for you than the present.

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ

And soon will your Lord give you [that wherewith] you shall be well-pleased.

أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًۭا فَـَٔاوَىٰ

Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter [and care]?

وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّۭا فَهَدَىٰ

And He found you wandering, and He gave you guidance.

وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًۭا فَأَغْنَىٰ

And He found you in need, and made you independent.

فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ

Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness,

وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ

Nor repulse the petitioner [unheard];

وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ

But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim!
